The Basics Of Heating And Cooling System

Heating and cooling system are there in every household these days. People don’t want to compromise with their comfort level. But if you are a little curious about functions and how these systems work, this content will provide you the basic idea of their performance. It is created only for your knowledge and nothing else. If you need any help with your HVAC system, you can call JetAirCo since they have a wide presence in New York, including Hauppauge, Smithtown, North Port, and more.

If you are thinking about the mechanisms of the heating and cooling systems, there are so many things to consider. But, we touch only the basic concepts of their performance.

Both heating and cooling systems have three major components and they are – a source of warm or cooled air, a distribution channel, and a regulator that helps you control the temperature.

For heating your space, you need a furnace which is a source of your heating system. An air conditioner is also a source of the cooling system. Those who are having the central heating and cooling system, use the same distribution channel for heating and cooling your house and the same regulator for controlling the temperature.

The principle of heating and cooling movement is the same- heat always moves from the warm object to the cooler object. In the heating season, the outside heat moves to your room and in the winter, the home air reduces the heat.

Both heating and cooling systems need fuel to operate. For the cooling system, the main fuel is electricity. For the furnace or the heating system, gas or oil has been used. There is also an option called heat pumps which are very common in the moderate climate area.

For the heating system, the fuel is burnt and the heat is produced and this heat travels through the distribution channels and spread across your home space through the radiators and registers.

Older systems often produce heat through heating water. Here, a boiler is there where the water is stored and heated by the fuel. Hot water travels through the pipes or ducts embedded through the surface of your house to keep your space warm.

For the air conditioning, electrical energy has been used to cool the gas in the coil. The warm air of your house is cooled down by this coil.

So, these are the principles for heating and cooling systems. If you need any help with your heating and cooling system, call JetAirCo. The company is providing HVAC services in Hauppauge, Smithtown, Northport, and Long Island. Visit our branches to know more about services.
